Recorded a year after Chet Baker's death, this tribute album (which was organized by pianist Richie Beirach) features trumpeter Randy Brecker, tenor-great Michael Brecker, guitarist John Scofield, Beirach, bassist George Mraz and drummer Adam Nussbaum on material associated with Baker. Actually Beirach contributed five of the ten songs and, since Baker rarely if ever performed three of them, this session's purpose gets watered down a bit. However the solos are generally of high quality and the music of this modern mainstream session holds one's interest throughout. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
