The Oscar D'León entry in Universal Music's 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection series of discount-priced best-ofs presents 12 selections from the Venezuelan salsa master's RMM Records discography, circa 1992-2003, tracks chosen from the albums El Rey de los Soneros (1992), Sonero del Mundo (1996), Toitico Tuyo (1997), La Formula Original (1999), and Infinito (2003). As such, it is only a partial portrait of the artist's career, and while it includes such hits as "La Carta," it leaves out others, notably "Hazme el Amor" and "Enamoradito." Nevertheless, with modest goals and a modest price, it is a reasonable sampler of D'León's later work. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
