Revolution USA?

All Music Guide Review

Not a video released by the band, Rage Against the Machine's Revolution USA? compiles interviews with bandmembers, as well as acquaintances of the group, and fans. Like similar unauthorized videos of other artists (Red Hot Chili Peppers' Rock Your Socks Off, etc.), no Rage music is used due to copyright laws, so in its place is a faceless band bashing out some RATM-like riffs. Some of the interviews are insightful (such as a childhood friend of Zack de la Rocha), while some are just a plain old waste of time -- including fans of the group outside a show, who seem to only scream like drunken party animals instead of being the intelligent youth that RATM liken as their primary audience. You should stick to such authorized DVD/video releases as 1997's self-titled release and 2000's The Battle of Mexico City, but if you're interested in a rough documentary on RATM part one (prior to de la Rocha's exit), Revolution USA? contains some interesting tidbits. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
