This 2007 Alarm Collection from EMI Gold boasts 18 cuts from the spirited, spiky-hair '80s group, many of which are previously unreleased or alternate mixes of fan favorites. This same approach to creating an Alarm anthology was better handled on 2006's 21-track Best of the Alarm, which is a reissue of 1998's Best of the Alarm & Mike Peters. Both compilations feature an eclectic mix of fan favorites and deeper studio cuts, but Collection suffers from some glaring omissions, specifically "Rain in the Summertime." ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
