    All Music Guide Review

Everyone involved with Tammy Wynette...Remembered entered the project with the best of intentions, but the resulting album has as many flaws as attributes. First of all, it's hard to produce a convincing tribute album, even if everyone involved is sincere in their sentiments, but it is true that a couple of teamings, such as Elton John's "Stand By Your Man" and Melissa Etheridge's "Apt. 9," were not the best of ideas. Sadly, "In My Room," a duet with Brian Wilson that turned out to be the last song Tammy Wynette recorded, is among those. Fortunately, such songs as Rosanne Cash's "D.I.V.O.R.C.E.," George Jones' "Take Me to Your World," K.T. Oslin's "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad" and Faith Hill's "'Til I Can Make It On My Own" pay tribute to Tammy's original performance by offering a vibrant new interpretation. Those are enough to make Tammy Wynette...Remembered a worthwhile listen, but it doesn't quite add up to a fully effective salute. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
