    Girls Get Busy

    05/07/2002 | Lookout Records

    All Music Guide Review

Reunited for 2000's Ladies, Women, and Girls, Bratmobile returns with a new collection of songs to raise the consciousness and spirits of the nation's concert-going populace. Their surf-guitar leads and crisp punk rock beats are as strong as ever, but on this album they've chosen to augment the sound with keyboards and the occasional bass guitar. Singer Allison Wolfe chants and rants about oppression to women in the world of rock & roll and American society, but also takes time out to tackle America in the George W. Bush era in "Shop for America" and the notion of American hegemony in "United We Don't," proving that the band won't just be pegged as a band for grrls. ~ Kevin S. Hoskins, All Music Guide
