    All Music Guide Review

The title Hot 'N Heavy may imply that the record is filled with sexy ballads, but that's not true. "Heavy" is the operative word in the title, and this ten-track, budget-priced collection is filled with heavy, hard-rocking songs from the '70s and '80s, including Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever," Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein," Europe's "The Final Countdown," Mountain's "Mississippi Queen," Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son" and Molly Hatchet's "Whiskey Man." It's an uneven collection, with as many losers as winners, but you can't ask for much more from a budget-priced collection. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
