Bloc Party announced the unexpected August 21 release of its new album, Intimacy (Atlantic), during a Web chat with fans yesterday. The band blamed the pre-street date leak of A Weekend in the City for their decision to sell a digital download version of their third LP three months early. It'll be available as a CD with some "different tracks" on October 28. Fans who pre-order the physical pressing of Intimacy at blocparty.com will be privy to a free MP3 copy this Thursday.
As for the details behind Intimacy, all we know right now is its tracklisting and its producers: Jacknife Lee and Paul Epworth.
Intimacy:
1. Ares
2. Mercury
3. Halo
4. Biko
5. Trojan Horse
6. Signs
7. One Month Off
8. Zephyrus
9. Better Than Heaven
