Celebrated actress Annette Bening has been elected as one of the governors of the actor's branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This is the actress's first election to the board.
Bening, the wife of actor Warren Beatty, has been nominated for three Academy Awards throughout her career. She will act as one of three governors for her branch. The actress will next be seen on screen in the remake of The Women, due out later this year.
