Sean Connery's "Being a Scot" Tome Launching in August

On his birthday, no less
Scottish nationalist and former James Bond actor Sean Connery will release his memoir, Being a Scot, on his 78th birthday, August 25, 2008.
The memoir was co-written with filmmaker Murray Grigor and highlights Connery's views on several aspects of Scottish culture, ranging from architecture to sports and literature. The book has gone through several versions and various publishers over the years.
Connery staunchly supports the Scottish National Party and is a Scottish expatriate, residing in the Bahamas and refusing to live in his native country until they are granted independence from the United Kingdom.
