Some people might think the heat and humidity of 90 days of summer is too much, but Fox Searchlight believes that 500 Days of Summer is necessary. The studio is producing the film, described as an "anti-romantic comedy." Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel, Rachel Boston and Minka Kelly, who is the daughter of Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay, are all signed on to star in the film.

The movie will be lensed by music video director Marc Webb, who is making his feature film directorial debut. The story is about a woman who doesn't believe in love and the man who falls in love with her. Deschanel, who moonlights as one-half of indie music duo She & Him, will play the anti-love cynic while Gordon-Levitt will portray her suitor. Production will begin this week in Los Angeles.

In the meantime, Gordon-Levitt will play Cobra Commander in next year's live-action version of G.I. Joe, while Deschanel will appear in this summer's M. Night Shyamalan mystery The Happening.
